Alchemy Cleantech and Paragon Biofuels have jointly inaugurated a bio-CNG plant in Ankleshwar. The plant will produce 2,373 tonnes of CBG and bio-fertilizer from 43,800 tonnes of bio-waste annually, reducing carbon emissions by 17,000 tonnes.

Waste To Energy In Gujarat: Alchemy Cleantech and Paragon Biofuels today jointly inaugurated the Ankleshwar Bio-CNG Plant. This exclusive company has been set up under a strategic partnership between the two companies to promote India’s sustainable waste-to-energy infrastructure. The launch is a landmark step in moving India towards a circular energy economy, where bio-waste is converted into clean fuels, valuable nutrients are recovered and meaningful employment is also created. The Ankleshwar Bio-CNG plant is designed to process 43,800 tonnes of bio-waste per year, which will be converted into 2,373 tonnes of compressed bio-gas (CBG), a direct alternative to conventional CNG. This process will prevent 17,000 tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions every year, which is equivalent to saving 6,272.6 hectares of forest area or 79.5 lakh liters of petrol. This will give a significant boost to India’s net-zero goals. Also, the plant will produce 7,300 tonnes of solid FOM and 27,375 cubic meters of liquid FOM per year, which is a bio-fertilizer rich in nutrients and completes the cycle of waste management by promoting sustainable agriculture.
Sushant Arora, Founder, Alkami Cleantech said, “At Alkami Cleantech, we believe that the future of energy lies in regeneration, not mining. The Ankleshwar Bio-CNG plant is proof that landfilling waste is not a question, but a valuable resource that can be harnessed. Together with Paragon Biofuels, we are taking a decisive step towards creating a truly circular energy economy for India, where every tonne of bio-waste is transformed into clean fuel, fertile soil and shared prosperity. This is just the beginning.
Susmit Gupta, Managing Director, Paragon Biofuels, said that generation of clean energy from waste will become one of the main pillars of India’s energy security in the coming decades. Paragon Biofuels strongly believes in the potential of this sector and has invested Rs. 500 crore is committed to invest. The Ankleshwar Bio-CNG plant is an important milestone, demonstrating that capital, technology and policies can work together to create sustainable infrastructure with measurable impact.
