Jagran correspondent, Varanasi. After the arson incident that took place a day earlier in Dalmandi, the police administration has decided not to take any risk regarding security. After the demolition of the houses declared dilapidated by the Municipal Corporation, now a big action has been planned. On Tuesday, action is being taken with JCB on 21 houses which were considered dilapidated by the Municipal Corporation. Along with this, a total of 34 houses including other houses are being demolished.
Media entry has been restricted in Dalmandi and all journalists have been instructed to stop near the Chowk police station. Large scale demolition work is going on in this area, which is considered necessary from security point of view. Due to the narrow lane, it has been decided to give priority to safety.
This action is being monitored through drones, and action is being taken on 34 buildings simultaneously. During this time, heavy police force has also been deployed in the area for security reasons. Where demolition work is going on, barricading has also been done so that any untoward situation can be dealt with.
The police administration has clarified that the purpose of such action is to ensure security in the area and to prevent recurrence of such incidents in future. The problem of illegal construction and dilapidated buildings was increasing in the Dalmandi area for some time, which was posing a threat to the local residents.
