Shala Praveshotsav 2026: On the second day of ‘Girl Education Festival and School Entrance Festival – 2026’ i.e. The program was organized on June 24 in a total of 8,173 villages and 11,987 schools across the state.

Under this program, a total of 29,682 dignitaries including Chief Minister, Deputy Chief Minister, Ministers, office bearers and high officials visited various schools to welcome the children and boosted the enthusiasm of the students. Thus, over 1.31 lakh students have been enrolled covering a total of 17,338 villages, 60,184 dignitaries and 24,716 schools across the state in the last two days.

With the aim of increasing the literacy rate in Gujarat and ensuring 100 percent enrollment of every child in the state, the 24th edition of ‘Kanya Kelavani Mohotsav and School Entrance Festival – 2026’ was inaugurated yesterday by Chief Minister Shri Bhupendra Patel at Vadnagar’s historic BN. It was started statewide from high school. This educational Mahaparva was initiated where the country’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi received his school education.

A new generation of lakhs of children have enrolled in school and registered a record breaking enrollment during this great festival of education. Today, more than 62 thousand children performed Akshar Gyanesh in Anganwadi and Kindergarten during Pravesh Festival. A total of more than 1.40 lakh new enrollments have been registered against a total of 1,39,925 eligible children in Balwatika. Apart from this, more than 34 thousand students in class-1, 1,96,755 in class-9 and 1,01,759 students in class-11 enthusiastically made the school entrance festival a real success.

Moreover, in order to reduce the drop-out rate in the rural and interior areas of the state and especially to prevent girls from dropping out, the state government has made available innovative transport facilities in 847 schools. Apart from this, to further boost girl education, 5,664 talented girls of the state were given ‘Vidyalakshmi Bonds’ to encourage them to pursue higher education.

The generous people of the state have supported this education yajna with open arms by giving it the form of a Lokotsav. During this campaign a total of Rs. 9.19 crore was received as financial assistance. In it Rs. 1.24 crore in cash form and Rs. 7.95 crores were gifted to schools for various educational equipment. As many as 21,892 children from across the state are yet to be enrolled during the recently held ‘Back to School Survey’. The education department will conduct a special campaign in the coming days to speedily connect all these children to the main stream.

‘Kanya Kelavani Mohotsav and School Entrance Festival – 2026’ is becoming not just an event, but a living symbol of the state government’s commitment to education, community participation and Gujarat’s strong determination towards a bright future.
