Rudy van Vuuren is currently the chairman of the Namibia Cricket Board. Besides this, he is a medical doctor. He is among those players who have played World Cup in two sports. After playing in the Cricket World Cup held in South Africa in 2003, Rudy van Vuuren also participated for his country in the Rugby World Cup held in Australia in the same year. He is the first player in the world to play in both the Cricket and Rugby World Cups. In his career he played 5 matches and took 8 wickets. Along with this, Rudy is also a pilot.

Recalling Sachin’s wicket, Rudy said- I remember what happened. I think Sachin was batting around 140. He was very tired and I was also tired. The ball was slow but this is the most valuable wicket in world cricket. If you can take the wicket of Sachin Tendulkar then it is great.
After the match, Rudy Van Vuuren also got a chance to meet Sachin Tendulkar. After this he became a fan of Sachin. He recalled, “Our team manager Francois Erasmus asked Sachin if he could get a photo clicked with me and he agreed.” We sat and talked for a long time. The thing that impressed me most about him was his humility. He talked and was also interested in rugby. Talking to him was a great experience.
