Actually, this scheme is an extension of the already running ‘Delhi Ladli Yojana’. The BJP government in Delhi has upgraded the already running scheme. Dilli Ladli Yojana was started in 2008. But for the last few years the benefits of this scheme were not reaching the society. Now after a long time, preparations have been made to take this scheme to more and more girls. Rs 160 crore will be spent on this scheme.
How will girls become millionaires in Delhi?
Earlier, under the Delhi Ladli Scheme, the government used to deposit a total of Rs 35,000 at different levels from the birth of the daughter till her admission in class 12th. After turning 21, this money was given along with interest. But now under the new scheme a total amount of Rs 56000 will be given by the government. Later, after including interest, this amount will be Rs 1.20 lakh. This money will be sent directly to the daughter’s account through DBT. This money will be received only after the daughter graduates or completes 21 years of age.
What is the eligibility of Lakhpati Bitiya Yojana?
- It is necessary for the beneficiary daughter to be born in Delhi.
- Daughter’s family must be citizens of Delhi for at least 3 years
- The annual income of the family should not exceed Rs 1 lakh
- Only maximum two girls in a family will get the benefit of the scheme.
- If anyone has taken admission outside Delhi, they will also get the benefit.

How to apply for Lakhpati Bitiya Yojana
However, detailed guidelines regarding Lakhpati Bitiya Yojana are yet to be issued. But if we look at the application process of other schemes of Delhi Government and Laadli Yojana, e-district portal Have to apply through. For this, first you will have to create a login on the e-district portal with your Delhi address based Aadhar card.
Rs 190 crore will be released under Ladli scheme
Apart from this, Rs 190 crore stuck under Delhi Laadli Scheme will also be released soon. According to the information, there are more than 1.86 lakh such accounts which have completed their maturity with time. But no one has made any claim on their behalf yet. The Delhi government has so far identified more than 30,000 beneficiaries and released Rs 90 crore to them. Rs 100 crore will also be released to 41 thousand other beneficiaries soon.
