Rain was recorded in 12 talukas within the period of 4 to 6 hours in the evening. Among which Nadiad received the highest 53 mm. And Barwala of Botad received 32 mm of rain.
Gujarat Rain: Pre-monsoon activity has picked up pace before the arrival of monsoon in Gujarat. Rainy weather has been lashing different parts of the state since yesterday evening after unbearable upheaval and blizzard for the last several days. Even today, rain showers have been recorded in many parts of the state.
Meghmeher in 31 talukas of Gujarat today
According to the statistics issued by the Gandhinagar-based State Emergency Operation Center, 31 talukas of the state received rain during the 12 hours from 6 am to 6 pm today. Nadiad of Kheda district received the highest rainfall of 53 mm (2.09 inches).

Apart from this, 32 mm (1.26 inches) of rain has fallen in Barwala in Botad, 25 mm in Wadali in Sabarkantha, 23 mm in Jamnagar, 18 mm in Jambughoda in Panchmahal, 15 mm in Halol and 13 mm in Talaja in Bhavnagar.
2 inches of rain in Nadiad in 2 hours, markets flooded
Cloudy weather and intolerable blizzard from this morning, finally at 4 o’clock the sky of Nadiad was covered with black Dibang clouds. After which there was thunder and heavy rain. More than 2 inches of rain fell between 4 pm and 6 pm, inundating markets and low-lying areas in Nadiad. People got relief from the heat as the rain cooled the atmosphere, but due to waterlogging people had to suffer.
There has been partial relief in the heat as the maximum temperature has decreased by 2 to 3 degrees due to rainy weather. According to the Meteorological Department, stormy showers may occur in parts of Saurashtra and South Gujarat in the coming days.
