Apart from this, out of 144 places of settlement where drainage water and storm water works are going on, 42 places where barricading work is going on and have been instructed to complete it soon.
Water will be released in Sabarmati river from June 22
The Chairman said about the Jalyatra to be held in connection with Rath Yatra, the process of releasing water in the Sabarmati river will be started from June 22 in view of the traditional Jalyatra to be held on June 29. The necessary planning is being done by the system in advance to ensure that the required water level is maintained during the Jalyatra and as the Jalyatra is one of the important religious and cultural programs of Ahmedabad before the Rathayatra.
Foot over bridge will be ready in Kubernagar
Students studying in ITIs going beyond the Kubernagar underpass faced difficulty in commuting. About which a survey was done earlier and after that a footover bridge was asked to be built.
Earlier there was a 9 meter road and there was a problem of erosion, regarding which today’s standing committee has informed that a footover bridge is to be opened at that place by opening a 9 meter road. It has been suggested that the space be opened immediately so that the further work can be started easily.
Amid increasing pressure on footpaths, the committee deliberated on the issue of reducing width
Footpaths ranging from 1 to 5 meters are constructed in different areas keeping in view the road width and local requirements. However, as various pressures are observed on the footpaths at many places, it is suggested to limit the width as far as possible and to build footpaths of lesser width as required.
The white topping road will be built on the utility side
Talking about the white topping/RCC road issue, the chairman said that white topping/RCC was done within three months after the construction of roads at one or two places in the eastern area. It was noticed that the road had been dug up. Hence, it has been decided in this regard that it does not matter if this type of road is built on the side where there is a utility, but where the utility is in between, it has been asked to move it to the side and white topping/RCC road only if it is on the side.
