NEET Re Exam Scam: A very shocking and sensational incident has come to light from the city of Ajmer in Rajasthan amidst the ongoing controversy regarding the medical entrance exam NEET-UG across the country. The original NEET-UG exam held on May 3 was canceled after the question paper was leaked, following which the re-examination has been rescheduled today at 2 pm. However, a case of an active gang or thug extorting money from the students in the name of question paper has thrown the entire diocese into a frenzy even before the commencement of this important exam.

Claimed to show paper on video call and demanded ₹30,000

A student preparing for an exam in Ajmer was contacted by an unknown caller. This unknown person claimed that he has the original question paper of the re-exam to be conducted today. The thug lured the student that if he paid ₹30,000, he would show him the entire question paper live through a video call. This kind of offer created panic and apprehension among students and parents.

A police complaint was lodged by an ABVP member

Krishna Singh Thakur, former president of DAV College Vidyarthi Sangh and an active member of ABVP, immediately took the front to expose the entire scam. He has filed an official complaint in Ajmer police station regarding this fraud. Not only this, he has also handed over the audio recording of the conversation between the thug and the student as strong evidence to the police. Based on the complaint, the police are now scrutinizing the mobile number, QR code and other digital details sent by the accused.

Police suspect that it is a big money extortion scam

In this matter, Ajmer Additional SP (City) Himanshu Jagid said that the police has received an official complaint regarding this incident and considering the seriousness of the matter, a special investigation team has been formed immediately. Police are currently trying to trace the location of the unknown caller and verify the authenticity of the question paper that was claimed to be shown during the video call.

As per the initial guess of the police, this may be a big online fraud or scam designed only to extort money by misguiding innocent students, taking advantage of their coercion and fear, appearing for the exam to be held on Sunday. The police have appealed to the students not to fall for any such rumors or scams.
