If you ever carefully watch iPhone advertisements or launch presentations, you will always find one thing common. That is the time visible on the phone screen. The time shown on the phone screen in every advertisement is always set to 9:41 AM. If you are considering it a coincidence then it is not so at all, rather Apple’s deep thinking and strategy is hidden behind it.
Why is the time set at the same time in all iPhones?
Whether you look at Apple’s first iPhone or the latest iPhone 17, you’ll notice that the time is set at 9:41 AM. In fact, on January 9, 2007, when Apple’s then CEO Steve Jobs presented the iPhone to the world for the first time in San Francisco, this was the time in the clock. Apple wanted the time displayed on the screen and the audience’s clocks to be approximately the same when the phone appeared on stage. This is the reason why this time became the identity of Apple.
there was a different time before
Initially, 9:42 AM was shown on the screens of Apple products. The reason was that the company used to design its launch events with very precise timing. Usually the new product was shown about 40 to 42 minutes after the presentation started.
But during the iPad launch in 2010, Apple made the timing more accurate and made it 9:41 AM. After this, the same time started being shown in devices like iPhone, iPad and MacBook.
Time appears different on Apple Watch
Interestingly, the time on Apple Watch is shown not as 9:41, but as 10:09 AM. This is due to an old tradition in the watch industry, where watches are usually shown in the 10:10 position so that the dial and brand name are clearly visible. Apple followed this tradition, but chose a time of 10:09 AM to make itself a little different.
