OpenAI, which has become a big name in the world of Artificial Intelligence, is now preparing to enter the hardware segment as well. The company has already hinted that it may introduce its first AI-enabled device this year. Now in a new leak, many important information related to this upcoming product has come to light.
Wearable audio device will be the first product
According to tipster Smart Pikachu, OpenAI’s first hardware product could be earbuds. It has been claimed that these earbuds can be named ‘Dime’. The report also says that the company may launch a simple and basic version initially, while a model with more advanced AI-features will come later.
The company filed a patent in China
According to the leak, a patent related to OpenAI has recently become public in China. The name ‘Dime’ has been mentioned in this patent, which has further intensified the speculation regarding this name. It is being told that the company wants to see the market reaction by launching simple earbuds first.

The tipster also says that the device with phone-like computing power that OpenAI was working on may be delayed. The main reason for this is said to be the lack of HBM (High Bandwidth Memory), due to which the cost of the product has increased significantly. That’s why the company may launch a simpler version in 2026, while a more advanced SKU will be launched later when component prices stabilise.
May be launched this year
Earlier, OpenAI’s Chief Global Affairs Officer Chris Lehane had also confirmed that the company plans to make its first AI device this year, although he did not give any specific date for the launch.

Introduced new AI model
Meanwhile, OpenAI has also recently launched a new AI model named GPT-5.3-Codex, which is designed for agentic coding. This model is available to all paid ChatGPT users worldwide. The company claims that it is about 25 percent faster than the previous version.
GPT-5.3-Codex is not limited to just writing code. It can create complex web games from simple prompts and auto-correct up to millions of tokens. Additionally, it can handle the entire software lifecycle, including writing PRDs, editing content, user research, creating presentations, spreadsheet analysis, and system monitoring.
