1. Regular check of wiper blades
The biggest cause of scratches on the windshield can be bad wiper blades. Over time, wiper rubber becomes hard or dust can get stuck in it. When you use the wiper, it scratches the glass. The best way to avoid this is to regularly check the wiper blades and replace them when necessary. If wipers are making noise while running, get them replaced immediately.
2. Do not use wiper on dry glass
Never operate wipers on a dry windshield. Dry dust deposited on the glass acts like desert sand and leaves fine scratches as the wiper moves. The way to avoid this is that if there is dust accumulated on the dry windshield, first clean the dust with a cloth. After this, spray water on the windshield and then run the wiper if needed. This will protect the windshield.
3. Choosing the right cloth for cleaning
Many times people clean the windshield with an old or dirty cloth from home. But, don’t do this. By doing this the windshield is not cleaned properly. Ordinary cloth fibers can leave marks on the glass. Instead, use a microfiber cloth or if you want, you can take a separate cloth to clean the car. This will not rub the glass.
4. Get protection installed
After all this, another way is that you can get separate protection installed on the windshield. While moving on the road or highway, a stone or pebble can bounce in the air and hit the windshield of the car, causing a crack mark on it. Protection is useful to avoid this. You can get a strong iron mesh installed on the windshield of your car from the market. This will keep the glass safe and no pebble or stone will get on it.
