The Women’s Commission has written to the Gujarat Police Chief and asked him to submit an action report within 7 days regarding the suspicious death of AAP activist Nandini Bosamia of Rajkot.
Rajkot News: The Delhi Women’s Commission has entered the case of the suspicious death of an AAP activist in Rajkot. The National Commission for Women has taken action in the suspicious death case of 21-year-old Nandini Anandbhai Bosmia. The Women’s Commission has directed the Gujarat Police to take immediate and effective action and sought a detailed action report within seven days.
Mahila Ayog wrote to DGP
According to a statement by the Women’s Commission, media reports alleged that the deceased Nandini had been physically, mentally and financially abused for a long time. The girl was allegedly forced to undergo hysterectomy surgery. The final message she shared before her death and the circumstances surrounding it have been pondered by the Women’s Commission. The commission has written to the DGP of Gujarat calling the case serious and painful and has demanded immediate action.
Demand for action on the death of the girl
Senior BJP leader Tejendra Bagga posted about this incident on social media. After which the Mahila Aayog came into action mode. In this case, the Commission has directed that an FIR be registered under appropriate sections. Also, the accused should be arrested at the earliest. Allegations of forced hysterectomy should be investigated in detail including the role of the hospital and medical staff involved.
Women Commission gave necessary directions
The commission further directed that a comprehensive forensic postmortem should be conducted by a panel of expert doctors. Investigate economic exploitation and recover amount if applicable. Previous complaints registered in Junagadh should be reviewed, any institutional deficiencies should be investigated. The victim, Nandini, hailed from Jetpur and was staying in Rajkot. According to the family’s allegations, her partner and relatives abused her.
Police have started initial investigation as accident and forensic PM is ongoing. An accused in the case is absconding, the Commission for Women has taken this step in line with its responsibility to monitor women’s rights and security issues.
