PCB has received rude replies from everywhere
Pakistan is isolated in the entire cricket community over the issue of boycott. In the NDTV report, quoting sources, it has been said that the cricket boards of other countries have given a very curt reply when contacted by the PCB. There is a consensus among all the countries that this was not a crisis at all but it was deliberately created by Pakistan. To support Bangladesh, Pakistan has boycotted without any reason. Due to this, Pakistan has no legal right in this matter.
Many boards showed the mirror of Pakistan’s duplicity
Sources have also said that many boards have shown Pakistan the mirror of its duplicity. Pakistan is boycotting the match against India in the T20 World Cup, but its team has played the match against India in the Under-19 World Cup without any boycott or demonstration. Similarly, Pakistan-A women’s cricket team will play a match against India-A women’s team on the same day i.e. on 15th February, when both of them have a match in the T20 World Cup. Till now, Pakistan has not made any announcement to withdraw from this match of the Rising Stars Women’s Asia Cup 2026 being held in Bangkok.
All the boards have also said that the T20 World Cup match is being held at a neutral venue in Colombo, Sri Lanka. For this, Pakistan itself had made an agreement with India and playing its remaining matches there means that there is no security threat. In such a situation, Pakistan has no basis to withdraw from the match.
Pakistan will be alone in ICC board
Pakistan may have to bear the brunt of not supporting other countries in the ICC board meeting, where the action taken after this announcement of boycott will be considered. Sources have indicated that ICC has already warned Pakistan of a long-term ban. In such a situation, Pakistan will be left alone in the board meeting, which will prove to be harmful for its own cricket ecosystem. Other boards have also warned Pakistan that ‘selective participation’ cannot take place in global sports events. If Pakistan goes ahead with the boycott even after this, it may have to face a penalty of around $38 million, important match points in the World Cup and even suspension. If this happens then the bankruptcy of Pakistan Cricket Board is certain.
