Jagran correspondent, Kannauj. STF caught a tanker filled with fake ethanol in Manimau of Kotwali area, the center of siege. Three youths, including the driver of the tanker, have been detained and interrogation has been started.
The arrested people told that they have been taking tanker filled with ethanol to the petrol pump for several days and they are paid for it. After investigation by District Excise Officer and District Supply Officer, fake ethanol was found in the tanker.
On Tuesday night at 10 pm, the STF from Lucknow, along with the District Supply Department and Sadar Kotwali Police, raided a petrol pump in Manimau. During this, the STF seized a tanker filled with fake ethanol and detained the driver and cleaner along with one other person for questioning.
Investigation by the STF team revealed that fake ethanol was being supplied at the petrol pump for the past several days. STF came into action after receiving this complaint and took this action.

Ethanol made in sugar mills is used in 10 percent mixture with petrol, but some people were selling fake ethanol at petrol pumps in the state for many days. On this complaint, STF has seized a tanker filled with fake ethanol from a petrol pump in Manimau, Kannauj.
Sadar Kotwali in-charge Jitendra Pratap said that STF has raided and caught a tanker filled with fake ethanol. Top officials have been informed about the matter. Investigation will be done after reaching the spot.
