Prashant Gajjar, Vadodara News: While incidents of clashes between police and motorists in Vadodara city often come to light, today, on June 19, a fierce brawl between the traffic police and a motorist in the city’s Sama Canal area and later the PSI jumping the motorist has gone viral on social media.

The traffic police stopped the driver as the vehicle was overloaded

A motorist passing near Sama Canal was stopped by the traffic police for being overloaded. After the penalty action, the matter got heated as the police talked about detaining the vehicle and a heated argument broke out between the two parties.

Meanwhile, the PSI present at the spot came on impulse and slapped the driver in public. The video of this whole incident is going viral on social media and people are showing anger against the working style of the police.

Even though I was ready to pay the fine, the police beat me

The aggrieved driver has alleged that we were ready to pay the fine, but the police insisted on detaining the vehicle. Not only that, I have been slapped not once but four-five times, of which only one video has surfaced. The motorist has demanded strict action against the police officer. Now the matter has reached the Sama police station, where both the parties are trying to register a complaint face to face.

After the incident came to light, the Vadodara Police Commissioner has transferred the traffic controller to PSI Maliwad’s control room (leave reserve) with immediate effect. Along with this, an investigation has been handed over to the Additional Police Commissioner of Police in the entire matter.
