Samvad Sutra, Gonda. The police has exposed the murder of Shivshankar, a resident of Dulhinpurwa of Narayanpur Majha in Colonelganj. Police claim that younger brother Amarnath had murdered Shivshankar due to lack of financial support in his studies. The accused has been arrested near the concrete road outside the village. Under his guidance, Rs 31,500 hidden near the ridge of Bhulawan Yadav’s farm was recovered.
SP Vineet Jaiswal said that on the night of February 3, Shivshankar Dubey, resident of Dulhinpurwa Narayanpur Majha, was stabbed to death by unknown persons. In this case a case was filed against five accused. Amarnath Dubey, younger brother of the deceased, was arrested during the investigation. The accused told during interrogation that he had completed his intermediate and graduation education while staying in Allahabad.
Was preparing for UPSC by staying in Delhi from the year 2023 to 2025. Was preparing by staying in Lucknow since August 2025. During his studies, he was not getting the expected financial support from his family, due to which he started living under constant stress. Complete control of the family’s income and expenditure was with his elder brother Shivshankar Dubey.
The accused got the impression that his brother was deliberately not giving him money and was spoiling his future and career. Started harboring hatred towards his brother. When he came to know that his parents were going to Prayagraj for Kalpavas for a month on January 2, he took advantage of the opportunity and decided to come home from Lucknow on January 1. After coming home, he started doing farming and taking care of animals.
His studies were being completely affected and he was beginning to feel bleak about his future. His brother has cash. Then he planned to take money by killing his brother. On January 27, bought a knife for Rs 60 from a person selling knives on a bicycle near Kasba Colonelganj bus stop. On January 31, while taking his neighbor’s sister-in-law to the bank, he got the same knife sharpened by paying Rs 20 at a shop in Ramtej Building in Colonelganj town.
At around 11 pm, he made the excuse of watering the fields and left the house taking his brother with him. As soon as he reached a deserted place on the way, he threw chilli powder on his elder brother and killed him by stabbing him in the neck several times with a knife. They took out money from the pocket of the deceased and threw the blood stained knife in the wheat field. To save himself and keep himself away from suspicion, he ran towards the village and started shouting that someone had killed his brother. The SP said that the accused is being sent to jail. A reward of Rs 25 has been announced for the team that exposes the secret.
