The state government has informed the Lucknow bench of the Allahabad High Court that it is in the process of constituting the Other Backward Classes Commission to conduct the upcoming Panchayat elections in the state. The bench of Justice Rajan Rai and Justice AK Chaudhary disposed of the petition after this statement came from the state government.

A PIL was filed demanding that the tenure of the Other Backward Classes Commission in the state had already completed about five months ago. Therefore, the government should be instructed to constitute this commission.

On the petition, the government advocate, after receiving instructions from the state government, informed the court that the government is in the process of constituting the said commission. After this, the court disposed of the petition as there was nothing left in it.
