Jagran correspondent, Moradabad. Son-in-law Gulnawaz shot and killed his mother-in-law when she was interrupted for drug addiction in Teacher Colony of Majhola police station area. The accused, after pointing a gun at the neck of her mother-in-law who was cooking in the kitchen, ran away with her friend while waving the gun. The police is busy searching for him. After the incident, panic spread in the area and there was mourning in the family.

E-rickshaw driver Shakeel, originally a resident of Asalatpura in Galshaheed, has been living in a rented house in Teacher Colony, Jayantipur for about three months. His wife Ruksana (40), three daughters and four sons lived with him. Elder daughter Saiba and son-in-law Gulnawaz were also living in the same house for the last two months.
According to relatives, Gulnawaz was addicted to smack and often used to come and go home in an intoxicated state. Mother-in-law Ruksana was cooking food in the kitchen at around eight o’clock on Wednesday night. Meanwhile, Gulnawaz was preparing to go out with his friend Mustafa to consume drugs.
Ruksana forbade him from going out to consume drugs and stopped him from going out. Not only this, he was also called a drug addict. Gulnawaz got angry on this matter and started abusing. In anger, he took out a gun, pointed it at Ruksana’s neck and shot her. As soon as the bullet hit, Ruksana fell on the spot and became drenched in blood.
Hearing the sound of firing, other members of the house ran outside. Elder daughter Saiba, son and daughters tried to catch the accused, but he showed a pistol and threatened to shoot everyone.
After this, Gulnawaz fled from the spot with his friend Mustafa waving the pistol. There was screaming in the house. Hearing the noise, nearby people also reached the spot. Relatives took Ruksana to the district hospital in critical condition, where doctors declared her dead.
Police interrogated
On receiving the information, Majhola police station, CO Civil Lines Kuldeep Gupta and forensic team reached the spot. The police collected evidence from the spot and interrogated the people present in the house. The body has been sent for post-mortem.
SP City Kumar Ran Vijay Singh said that the accused is a drug addict. When he was interrupted for drinking, he shot and killed his mother-in-law. Teams have been formed to arrest the accused and his associate. Police are raiding possible locations. Soon both will be arrested.
