Jagran correspondent, Prayagraj. Robber Pappu Sonkar, who was shot in a police encounter, died in Swaroop Rani Nehru Hospital on Wednesday. The cause of death has been stated to be heart attack.

In Karchana police station area, on the night of 22 December 2025, bike-riding miscreants shot bullion businessman Chandan Soni and looted jewelery worth lakhs. A week ago, there was an encounter between a robber and the team of SOG, in which the accused Pappu Sonkar and two others were injured due to bullet injuries. Pappu had an operation on Tuesday. He died in the hospital on Wednesday. ACP Karchana Sunil Kumar Singh said that the doctor said that he had a heart attack, due to which he died.
