Digital Desk, Jagran, Lucknow: Yogi Adityanath government minister Om Prakash Rajbhar has made a big claim regarding the proposed Panchayat elections in Uttar Pradesh this year. Uttar Pradesh Panchayati Raj Minister Rajbhar was in Sultanpur on Saturday and also interacted with the media.

In the press conference held at District Panchayat Auditorium Sultanpur regarding the Union Budget 2026, Panchayati Raj Minister and SubhaSP National President Om Prakash Rajbhar made the reason for increasing the limit of SIR and the date of Panchayat elections almost clear. He said that Panchayat elections in the state will be conducted on time only, there is no need for any kind of confusion.

Rajbhar said that ballot papers for the Panchayat elections have been printed and sent to 75 districts, while the final voter list will be published on the 28th. He reiterated that the election process will proceed as per the scheduled timetable. The minister further said that there is confusion regarding Panchayat elections due to SIR. After this there are board exams and then census is planned. All these circumstances are creating confusion, but Panchayat elections in Uttar Pradesh will be held on time.

Parties busy preparing for Panchayat elections

These days all the political parties in Uttar Pradesh are busy preparing for the Panchayat elections. Panchayat elections can be held in the state in April-May this year. In this regard, the Election Commission has also given instructions to the District Election Officers to remove the discrepancies in the information, so that the further process can be started. Following the instructions of the Election Commission, the stir in political circles has also intensified.

Rajbhar defended the MLA

During this, Om Prakash Rajbhar defended his MLA in the case of the viral audio of him allegedly harassing the Municipal Corporation team over the phone while removing encroachment on the drain belonging to Subhasp MLA Beniram. He said that there is no such fact. If the accountant is making such allegations then make the mobile recording public.

Rajbhar said that even before this the matter had been raised in the Assembly under Rule 51. Where there is actually a drain, contractors have built flats and they want the drain to be taken out from someone else’s land. The MLA demands that the drain should emerge from the same place where it actually exists. He also clarified that no marriage lawn of the MLA has been built on the drain land. The land has been measured four times. Along with this, he alleged that the concerned councilor is making statements inspired by the party.
