State Bureau, Lucknow. With the rise of election waves in Uttar Pradesh, many prominent faces have set out to find a safe political base. Naseemuddin Siddiqui, who held the number two position in former Chief Minister Mayawati’s government, will now ride a bicycle on February 15 after being in Congress for eight years. Expressing the pain of not getting work in Congress, he had said goodbye to the party on January 24. Anees Ahmed, who was a minister in Mayawati government along with Naseemuddin, will also become SP.

Naseemuddin was the most powerful minister in the Mayawati government between 2012-2017. Later, due to differences with Mayawati, he had to withdraw from BSP. After this Naseemuddin joined Congress. Stayed in Congress for about eight years. The party also made him the president of the western region, but neither he nor the party could do any charisma.

While in Congress, he remained at loggerheads with many party leaders. Naseemuddin continued to be marginalized. In 2019, he contested the elections from Bijnor Lok Sabha seat on Congress ticket, where he could not even save the security deposit. Last month, Naseemuddin accused Congress that the party is not giving him any work. The party is not making any use of his organizational capacity, behind which it was hinted that some big leaders were involved.

After leaving the party, Congress state president Ajay Rai and state in-charge Avinash Pandey also went to his house to convince him, but things did not work out. After separating from Congress, Naseemuddin decided to return to the old party by praising Mayawati, but BSP did not take any interest.

Along with this, he also kept the other way open by praising the behavior of Samajwadi Party’s Akhilesh Yadav. A discussion arose that he could form a third pole by meeting Nagina MP Chandrashekhar and former minister Swami Prasad Maurya. Ultimately, amid all the discussions, Naseemuddin saw his future in SP. Akhilesh Yadav will also be there at the time of joining to increase his stature in the party. On the other hand, political experts say that amidst the political absence of Azam Khan, the expert Muslim face of the organization will increase the party’s support base, while the restlessness among the already active Muslim faces will increase.
