UP News: Murder of father by entering house in Shravasti, miscreant absconds with jewelery and cash after taking son hostage

Jagran correspondent, Shravasti. The miscreants who entered the house on Sunday night in Bhajore Purva village of Gram Panchayat Ullahawa of Hardatt Nagar Girant area killed the house owner.

After holding the son hostage, he also attacked his son on the head with a sharp weapon. After this the miscreants ran away with the money and jewellery. SP Rahul Bhati inspected the incident site.

Nemraj Pathak of Bhajore Purva, his son Sunil and daughter-in-law Lakshmi were sleeping on Sunday night. Nemraj Pathak was in the verandah of the house and his son and daughter-in-law were in the adjacent room. At around 1.30 in the night, the miscreants entered the house by jumping over the wall and strangulated the father who was sleeping in the verandah.

When his son Sunil came out after hearing his suffocating voice, the miscreants injured him by hitting him on the head with a knife and took him hostage and locked him in another room located next to him. Seeing this incident, daughter-in-law Lakshmi hid under the bed in the room.

After the miscreants left, the daughter-in-law came out and saw that her father-in-law was lying dead on the bed. His hands were tied from behind. He was stabbed several times with a sharp weapon on the left side of his stomach. The miscreants had also taken away some money and jewelery kept in the house. The daughter-in-law informed the police.

At around 2 o’clock in the night, Inspector Mahima Nath Upadhyay, in-charge of Harduttnagar Girant police station, arrived with the police and forensic team. The team collected evidence from the spot. At around 6 in the morning, SP Rahul Bhati, CO Satish Chandra Sharma also inspected the spot.
