Dialogue Associate, Jagran, Kalyanpur. In Rawatpur, a married woman has filed a case against her in-laws, calling her husband impotent and accusing him of harassing her for dowry, beating her and driving her out of the house. The victim says that the in-laws deliberately hid the information about her husband, currently the police is investigating.

The marriage took place on April 2025

The victim, living in a locality of Rawatpur, was married to a young man resident of Hamirpur on 25 April 2025. Her father had spent around Rs 38 lakh on the wedding. After marriage, she went to her in-laws’ house but even after living together for four days, marital relations did not develop between her and her husband. It is alleged that during the second farewell, she stayed with her husband in several relationships where despite all efforts, the husband was unable to establish marital relations.

In-laws deliberately hide information

During this time, the victim came to know that her husband was impotent and her in-laws had deliberately hidden this truth. Not only this, the three BHK flat in Noida in which the relationship was settled by declaring it to be her husband’s property was also registered in someone else’s name. When the victim raised questions about this, her in-laws started threatening her. Told that he was beaten and mentally tortured.

In-laws put pressure on them to live together

Her in-laws put pressure on her to stay as a wife and the expenses would be borne by her. When the victim refused, jewelery worth about Rs 17 lakh was snatched and an additional Rs 5 lakh was demanded from her parents’ home. When she refused, she was thrown out of the house by her in-laws in October, after being beaten and abused. Rawatpur Inspector Kamlesh Rai said that a case has been registered and investigation is being done.
