State Bureau, Lucknow. Complaints about incomplete work coming from many places regarding Jal Jeevan Mission have alerted the government. On Monday, the Jal Shakti Minister expressed his displeasure over the slow functioning of the companies, BGCC and L&T in Vindhya and Bundelkhand. Warned that water supply work to all the houses in both the areas should be completed within 30 days. If the work is not completed within the stipulated time, an FIR will be lodged against the owners of the company and they will be sent to jail.

In the meeting held on Monday, the Jal Shakti Minister directed the executive engineers and officers of all the districts to inform the public representatives about every situation. Give complete information about the work being done under the scheme. Action should be taken against officers who do not do so. Executive engineers and other officers should go among the villagers and solve the problems.

He said that in any case, the construction work of damaged roads should be completed at all places by the end of March. Officials said that during the laying of pipelines in Bundelkhand and Vindhya region, there was a need to cut about 9,772 kilometers of roads, against which the repair work of 9,435 kilometers of roads has been completed. At some places, roads have sunk again due to rain and waterlogging. These are being rectified by running a campaign. The minister also launched Jal Sarathi app in the meeting. On this, villagers will be able to get information about the status of water supply in the village, expenditure incurred on the project, status of the projects under construction. They will also be able to lodge complaints regarding water supply.

The minister said that except four-five schemes in Bundelkhand and Vindhya region, the work of all the remaining ones has been completed. 100 percent water supply is being provided in most of the villages. In about three percent of the villages, regular water supply has been affected due to pipeline damage or other reasons. Instructions have been given to make immediate improvements in it. Additional Chief Secretary Namami Gange and Rural Water Supply Anurag Srivastava, MD Jal Nigam Rural Dr. Rajshekhar, Executive Director of State Drinking Water and Sanitation Mission Prabhash Kumar were present in the meeting.

Water festival will be celebrated in 22 thousand villages

In the meeting, Jal Shakti Minister directed that in the villages where water supply is being provided to 100 percent houses, Jal Utsav will be celebrated from March 8 to 22. Preparations are being made to celebrate Jal Utsav in 22 thousand villages by the State Drinking Water and Sanitation Mission.
