State Bureau, Lucknow. After extending the time for claims and objections in Special Intensive Revision (SIR) till March 6, Chief Electoral Officer Navdeep Rinwa has given detailed information about the disposal process of applications received in Form 7.
He has said that the applications received in Form 7 are disposed of as per the prescribed procedure. After issuing the notice, there is a provision to submit report after on-site verification by booth level officers. After the report, the Electoral Registration Officer conducts a hearing and takes a decision on the application.
Rinwa has said that in cases of objections against the inclusion of any person’s name in the voter list, notice is given in Form-13 to the person making the objection and notice is given in Form-14 to the person whose name is objectionable.
He has said that under the Special Intensive Revision-2026 in the state, claims and objections will now be taken till March 6. Regarding objections, action is being taken as per rules in the cases of dead, transferred, double entry, absentee voters through Form 7.
Deletion (removing names) action is taken to make the voter list pure and error free. On the basis of application given through Form-7, the Electoral Registration Officer takes action to remove the name of a voter from the voter list.
The list of objections received in Form-7 is prepared by the Electoral Registration Officer in Form-10. The list of receipt of claims and objections is posted daily on the notice board of the Electoral Registration Officer.
According to Rule 19 of the Electoral Registration Rules-1960, there is a provision that the officers will fix the date, time and place of hearing regarding the objection and will also put the information on the notice board. Will issue notice of hearing. Under the notice issued, each objection will be investigated by the Electoral Registration Officer.
