State Bureau, Lucknow. The state government has also laid emphasis on livestock and dairy development in the budget. Protection of destitute cattle has also been kept on priority.
Under the scheme for strengthening and revitalization of milk unions, a provision of Rs 107 crore has been made for the formation of 220 new milk societies and restructuring of 450 milk societies.
Whereas in Mathura, the previously proposed new dairy project of 30 thousand liter capacity has been modified and a provision of Rs 23 crore has been made for the establishment of a new dairy plant of one lakh liter per day capacity.
In the budget, Rs 2,000 crore is proposed for the maintenance of destitute cattle and Rs 100 crore is proposed for the establishment of large cow protection centres. A provision of Rs 253 crore has been made for the Animal Disease Control Scheme and Rs 155 crore for the strengthening of veterinary hospitals-animal union centres.
Whereas Rs 9.19 crore has been kept for the scheme of establishment, development and strengthening of goat farms, Rs 50 crore has been kept for the Chief Minister Risk Management and Livestock Insurance Scheme.
Apart from this, budget has also been given for the operation of Livestock Development Training Center Chagerwan Basti, Regional Livestock Mission and improvement and expansion of animal breeding facilities.
