Chennai: The record for the biggest partnership in T20 World Cup history was held by England’s Jos Buttler and Alex Hales. In 2022, both of them made a partnership of 170 runs in the run chase against India at Adelaide ground. This record of his has been broken. New Zealand’s Tim Seifert and Finn Allen have made a partnership of 175 runs. In the T20 World Cup match against UAE, both of them led their team to victory by 10 wickets.

Set to achieve the target of 174, New Zealand’s openers Seifert and Allen wreaked havoc on the UAE bowlers from the very first over. Both of them had scored 22 runs in the first 3 overs but after that they played the shots as per their wish. Player of the Match Seifert remained unbeaten after scoring 89 runs in 42 balls with the help of 3 sixes and 12 fours. Finn Allen scored 84 runs in 50 balls with the help of 5 fours and 5 sixes. New Zealand scored 175 runs without losing any wicket in 15.2 overs and won the match by 10 wickets.

Earlier, UAE won the toss and batted first and scored 173 runs for 6 wickets. Captain Muhammad Wasim and Alishan Sarafu made a strong partnership of 107 runs for the second wicket. Sarafu was out after scoring 55 runs in 47 balls with the help of 2 sixes and 5 fours. Wasim remained unbeaten till the end. He played an inning of 66 runs in 45 balls with the help of 3 sixes and 4 fours.
