Ishaan, who came to open in place of Sanju Samson, has strongly presented his claim to the selectors with his destructive batting. This left-handed wicketkeeper batsman played a stormy innings of 53 runs in just 20 balls, in which he hit 2 fours and 7 skyscraper sixes. Recently, Ishaan also performed brilliantly in the 5-match T20 series against New Zealand.
Ishaan attacked from the very first over
Ishan Kishan started the match in a very aggressive manner. He opened his account by hitting a six off Lungi Ngidi on the very second ball of the Indian innings. Ishaan’s true ferocious form was seen in the fifth over, when he scored 6, 6, 4 and 6 consecutive runs on the last four balls of Anrich Nortje’s over, scoring a total of 22 runs. After this, he completed his half-century in just 20 balls by hitting Kwena Mafaka for a six on the fourth ball of the sixth over. This inning of his has indicated that he is absolutely ready to open with Abhishek in the World Cup.
Scored a century against New Zealand
Ishaan’s excellent form has continued in the last few matches. Earlier, in the fifth T20 match against New Zealand, he had scored a century in just 42 balls. His jugalbandhi with Abhishek Sharma in the warm-up match was also amazing. Together they added 80 runs for the first wicket in just 5.4 overs, in which Abhishek contributed 24 runs in 18 balls. After this explosive innings of Ishaan, it is almost certain that he will be included in the playing eleven in the first match of the World Cup to be held against America on 7th February.
