Suji Upma Recipe: Soji Upma is a healthy and delicious snack that is loved by everyone, young and old. It is quick to make and easy to digest. But many people complain that instead of being loose and fluffy, their upma becomes sticky or lumpy like halwa. If this is happening to you too, don’t worry. The main reason for upma becoming sticky is wrong measurement of water. Proper measure of semolina and water Take 3 cups of water for 1 cup of semolina. If you like your upma a little dry and grainy, you can also take 2.5 cups of water.
How to and Tips to Create a Blooming Upma
Roast semolina properly: Before making upma, dry roast semolina in a pan on medium heat for 4-5 minutes. Take care that the color of the semolina does not change, just when it starts to smell faintly, turn off the gas. This will remove the moisture from the semolina and the upma will not be sticky.
Vegetables and Vegetables: Heat oil or ghee in a pan and add rice, urad dal, curry leaves, green chillies and vegetables of your choice like onion, carrot, peas and saute well.
Boiling water: After the vegetables are fried, add measured water. Add salt to taste and some lemon juice to the water and let it boil properly.

Steaming: When semolina absorbs all the water, switch off the gas and keep the pan covered for 5 minutes. The steam will cause the upama grains to puff up nicely.
