Team India made world record
The Indian team touched the 100-run mark in just 41 balls. With this, India broke the 12-year-old record of Netherlands, who had scored 100 runs in 42 balls i.e. 7 overs against Ireland in 2014. The main credit for this historic achievement goes to explosive opening batsman Ishan Kishan.
Team India made a bright start
Namibia won the toss and invited India to bat first, but their decision backfired on them. Sanju Samson had made his intentions clear in the very beginning by playing a short but effective inning of 22 runs in 8 balls. After his dismissal, Ishan Kishan took charge and thrashed the Namibian bowlers.
Ishan Kishan’s fifty in 20 balls
Ishan Kishan continued his tremendous form and completed his half-century in just 20 balls. He has become the third Indian batsman after Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul to score a half-century in the powerplay in the history of T20 World Cup. Kishan played a stormy innings of 61 runs in 24 balls before getting out. This inning of his took India towards such a strong score.
