Gandhinagar news: In view of the unbearable heat and extreme cold conditions currently going on in the state of Gujarat, there has been a demand before the government to take a major decision in the interest of the health of the students. A very important presentation has been made by the All India National Education Association-Gujarat to protect the health of lakhs of young children studying in primary schools of the state. Mahasangh has written an official letter to the Director, Primary Education on June 30, making a special appeal to keep the timings of schools in the morning instead of the afternoon.

Fear of risking children’s health at noon

As per the earlier fixed time table and administrative rules of the government, from 1st July 2026 all primary schools across the state will be regular afternoon. However, the teachers’ union has expressed concern over this decision and said that the atmosphere is very unfavorable in the whole of Gujarat. Due to unbearable heat, excessive blizzards and irregular rains, the climate is becoming extremely hot. In such a situation, young children of primary school age may have to face a lot of physical stress in commuting to and from school in the blazing afternoon sun. Due to this severe environment, there is a high possibility of serious health related problems in children like diarrhea, dehydration.

Weather forecast and interest of students

In its letter, the Teachers’ Union has also specifically mentioned the latest forecasts of the Meteorological Department. According to the Meteorological Department, there is no chance of any significant improvement in the weather or heat reduction in the coming days. In such inclement weather, if children are called to school in the afternoon, they will not be able to maintain enough concentration in studies due to heat and discomfort even in the classroom. As a result, their education can also be negatively affected. Keeping all these practical and practical matters in mind, it has become very necessary for the administration to take a positive and sensitive decision in the wider interest of the students.

Ask to keep the time unchanged for at least a week

Considering the health, safety and overall interest of the students as paramount, the All India National Education Union Gujarat has made a humble request that primary schools should be kept in the morning for at least the next 1 week till the monsoon fully activates and the rainy weather becomes favorable in the state.

Anirudh Singh P., the state president of Mahasangh, presented this important presentation. Solanki and General Minister Pareshbhai R. Patel has made it official based on the representations and concerns received from various district associations and parents of the state. The eyes of the parents and teachers of the entire state are now on what sensitive decision the education department and the state government take in the future on this very serious matter related to the health of millions of families and children.
