Mustafizur Rahman’s entry in PSL
Lahore Qalandars have included Bangladesh’s legendary fast bowler Mustafizur Rahman for the upcoming season of PSL. Qalandars have included him in the team as a ‘direct signing’ with a huge contract of Pakistani rupees 6.44 crore. Mustafizur has a long association with this franchise, having been a part of the team for two seasons before this. Although, he could not play a single match in 2016 due to a shoulder injury, but in the 2018 season, he participated in 5 matches, where he took 4 wickets at an excellent economy rate of 6.43.
There was an uproar regarding Mustafizur Rahman
Recently a big controversy was seen in the cricket world regarding Mustafizur Rahman. Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) bought him for 9.2 crore Indian rupees in the IPL auction, but had to release him due to BCCI action. Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) expressed strong displeasure over this and ultimately decided not to go to the T20 World Cup to be held in India citing security reasons. After this tough decision, ICC has removed Bangladesh from the tournament and included Scotland in their place.
There is ruckus from Pakistan also
Pakistan has also taken a tough stance after Bangladesh was thrown out of the World Cup. Pakistan is now planning to boycott the high-profile match against India in Colombo on February 15. Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has informed his cabinet in this regard, although the interesting thing is that the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has not yet officially informed the ICC about this boycott.
