Due to incessant rains in entire south Gujarat and Saurashtra including Ahmedabad and surrounding areas, the income of mangoes in the market yard has sunk to rock bottom.
Kesar Mango Price in Ahmedabad (08 July 2026) | Saffron Mango Price Ahmedabad: Monsoon season has begun across Gujarat, the direct impact of which is now being seen on the market of mango, the king of fruits. Today, due to heavy rains and low income in Ahmedabad wholesale market yard, there was a sharp rise in mango prices. Prices of various quality mangoes in the market today ranged from ₹1,500 to ₹5,000 per maund (20 kg) at historic highs. Mangoes have become a luxury item due to late season rainfall disruptions.
Rain spoiled Kerry’s math
Due to incessant rains in entire south Gujarat and Saurashtra including Ahmedabad and surrounding areas, the income of mangoes in the market yard has sunk to rock bottom. Due to difficulties in harvesting and transporting mangoes from the paddies, the required quantity is not reaching the market. According to traders, the rains also threaten to spoil the mango crop, leading to a severe shortage of good quality saffron, hafus and limp mangoes. Prices have seen a direct current of up to ₹5000 as demand is high against shortage.
Pockets of mango lovers are empty, ‘yellow alert’ in the market
On the one hand, the Meteorological Department has given an alert for rain, on the other hand, a ‘yellow alert’ of inflation has come in the mango market. It is now proving too expensive for middle-class families to taste the end-of-season mangoes. In the retail market, these prices are still being quoted high. Wholesale traders of the yard say that if the rainy conditions continue for the next two-three days and the rivers and canals are flooded, the revenue of mangoes will further decrease due to increasing transport problems and it will become impossible for common consumers to buy mangoes. Even though the monsoon has settled, the people of Ahmedabad are still crazy about mangoes and this is the reason why premium quality mangoes are being sold at high prices.
