New Delhi: Warm-up matches are organized before any ICC event. Through these matches the teams try to adapt to the situation. T20 World Cup 2026 starts from 7th February and the warm-up matches of the tournament have started. Apart from the main Indian team, India A team will also participate in the warm-up. In comparison, it is against America on 2nd February and Namibia on 6th February.

Tilak Verma’s place in the team

For the warm-up match of T20 World Cup 2026 Tilak Verma Has been included in India A team. He is also a part of the main team of the World Cup. Tilak Verma could not play the T20 series against New Zealand due to injury. He is completely fit. Tilak has been given a chance in the India A team to give maximum match practice before the T20 World Cup. He will join the World Cup team after the first warm-up match. 23-year-old Tilak Verma has played 40 T20 International matches for India so far. In this, he has 1183 runs in his name at an average of 49.29 and strike rate of 144. He has scored 6 fifties and two centuries. In the final of the Asia Cup, Tilak made India the champion by scoring an unbeaten fifty in a difficult situation.

Mayank Yadav is making a comeback

Ayush Badoni Has been made the captain of India A team. Mayank Yadav is also in this team. He has been away from the field since he got injured during IPL 2025. He has played three T20 International matches for India. Apart from this, among the players who have played international cricket, Ryan Parag, Ravi Bishnoi and Khalil Ahmed have got a place in the India A team.
