In a video released on the BCCI website, Shreyas Iyer said, “Let’s try to create a strong culture. I’m going to captain the Indian team for the first time and it’s certainly a matter of pride for me. I want to create a culture where we all help each other, stand by each other in times of trouble. The most important thing is to enjoy the match to the fullest when we go on the field.”

Encouraging the players, Shreyas Iyer added, “This is a great opportunity and this is a family. Play like a lion and play every match as if we are going to win it. Give your best and create an environment where we can help each other grow.”

The Indian team practiced hard before this match and Shreyas Iyer will want the team to get off to a great start with a win under his captaincy.
