Gandhinagar News:An important step has been taken by the Gujarat Police under the guidance of the State Police Chief G.S. Malik to ensure public safety, traffic regulation and to make the journey of the citizens safer and more convenient in the state. An MoU regarding digital integration has been entered into between Gujarat Police and Multi-State Cooperative Society ‘Sahkar Taxi Co-operative Limited’ i.e. ‘Bharat Taxi’.

The main objective of this agreement is to make urban transport safer and more efficient through modern digital platforms. Under which the SOS system will be activated in the application for the safety of passengers, especially women and senior citizens. This system will be linked with the control room mechanism of Gujarat Police, so that immediate assistance can be provided in case of emergency.

Apart from that, all vehicle drivers joining under ‘Bharat Taxi’ will be officially verified by Gujarat Police, so that the safety of passengers can be ensured. Not only this, special awareness programs on traffic rules and safety will be organized for drivers. Along with this, a joint public-awareness campaign will also be conducted for the convenience and safe travel of citizens.

Under this partnership, Gujarat Police will provide law and order maintenance, driver verification and control room support. While ‘Bharat Taxi’ will operate a fully digital platform.
