How does E-Invoice work?
With E-Invoice businesses do not bill directly on the GST portal, but instead invoice in their accounting software or ERP system as usual. The invoice data is then sent to the IRP. The IRP verifies the invoice and issues a unique IRN. After verification, a QR code is also generated on the invoice, which contains key information in encrypted form. This process provides real-time tax data, which reduces the possibility of fraudulent billing and fraudulent ITC claims.
