Afghanistan beat West Indies, 2016
West Indies won the 2016 T20 World Cup title. The team’s only defeat in the tournament was against Afghanistan. In Nagpur, after scoring 123 runs, Afghanistan’s explosive team was restricted to 117 runs.
Namibia beats Sri Lanka, 2022
There were upsets in the very first match of the 2022 T20 World Cup. Namibia had defeated 2014 champion Sri Lanka. In reply to Namibia’s 163 runs in Geelong, Australia, Sri Lanka’s innings was reduced to only 108 runs.
Netherlands beat South Africa, 2022
Many upsets were seen in the 2022 T20 World Cup. Netherlands scored 158 runs against South Africa in Adelaide and won by 13 runs. Due to this defeat, the South African team could not make it to the semi-finals.
America defeats Pakistan, 2024
Pakistan lost to America in its first match of the 2024 T20 World Cup. Pakistan scored 159 runs in 20 overs. America also scored the same number of runs. After this the match went into super over where America scored 18 runs and Pakistani team could score only 13 runs.
