Lucknow Fire Incident: Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has gone into full action mode after more than 15 days in the horrific fire incident in Lucknow, the capital of Uttar Pradesh. Considering the seriousness of this fire incident, CM Yogi has issued a major order to immediately constitute a two-member Special Investigation Team (SIT) to probe the incident in depth. The SIT has been asked to submit its detailed investigation report to the government within the next seven days, which will determine the circumstances behind the incident, administrative negligence and the role of responsible officials or persons.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath immediately canceled all his pre-scheduled official programs and rushed straight to Lucknow after receiving the news of the horrific fire accident. CM Yogi personally inspected the incident site thoroughly. He then rushed to the Emergency Hospital (KGMU), where he visited the injured and inquired about their health and met and consoled the bereaved families. A high-level meeting with senior officials of the Fire Department, Home Department, Lucknow Development Authority (LDA) and local administration was held at the CM’s residence late in the evening, during which the Chief Minister ordered the formation of a two-member SIT.

Keeping in view the sensitivity of the incident, the Chief Minister has also canceled the launch program of 143 development projects worth ₹548 crore in Hathras on Tuesday followed by an important review meeting on law and order in Agra.
Investigation entrusted to officials, focus will be on these issues
The Chief Minister has entrusted the responsibility of this high-level investigation to Additional Chief Secretary (Tourism) Amrit Abhijat and Additional Director General of Police (Lucknow Zone) Praveen Kumar. The two-member SIT will mainly focus its investigation on the following critical issues:
- Whether adequate fire safety system was available in that building or not?
- Were the safety standards prescribed within the building adhered to or were there any lapses?
- What is the role of fire safety management and regulatory agencies in this matter?
- How was the response of the local administration, fire brigade and emergency services after the fire and how fast was the rescue operation?
- Evacuation and relief operations were managed properly or not?
This strict attitude of the government makes it clear that if the negligence of any government department or private individual is found in this fire, strict legal action will be taken against them.
