10 children of a family from Jaipur got food poisoning at Somnath in Gir Somnath. After breakfast at Shivshakti restaurant, food samples of children falling ill were sent to the lab for testing.
Gir Somnath Food Poisoning: A serious case of health of pilgrims being compromised in the world famous Somnath in Gir Somnath has come to light. As many as 10 children of a tourist family have suffered food poisoning due to negligence in the quality of food available at the pilgrimage. The family suddenly fell ill after eating at a restaurant in Hat Bazar area of Somnath. The children suffered from abdominal pain and vomiting.
The health of 10 children of a Rajasthani family deteriorated
According to the details, a family from Jaipur, Rajasthan came to visit Somnath temple. After visiting grandfather, the family had breakfast at Shivshakti restaurant in Haat Bazaar area. However, after some time the children developed persistent vomiting and abdominal pain. Children in such critical condition were admitted to the collective health center.
8 children admitted due to critical condition
As a result of this food poisoning, 8 out of 10 children are found to be in critical condition. While the remaining 2 children have been discharged after primary treatment. After the incident, the local administration and the health department swung into action. In this matter, the doctors are monitoring the condition of the children in the hospital.
The food department has undertaken the process of collecting food samples from restaurants and sending them for lab tests to find out the cause of food poisoning. Also, legal action will be taken against those responsible.
