Microsoft founder and Gates Foundation chairman Bill Gates reached Andhra Pradesh on Monday. He was welcomed by State IT Minister Nara Lokesh and senior cabinet ministers at Gannavaram Airport here. Bill Gates reached the state secretariat along with ministers of the Andhra Pradesh government. Here issues of health, agriculture, education and strengthening technology-based governance will be discussed. This visit of Bill Gates is being considered an important step for the future partnership between the state government and ‘Gates Foundation’.
Hope for new partnership in technology and health sector
IT Minister Nara Lokesh welcomed Bill Gates while posting on social media platform ‘X’. He said- “Welcome to Amaravati, Mr. Bill Gates. It is a privilege for me to welcome the Chairman of the Gates Foundation at Gannavaram Airport today.” Lokesh also said that the Andhra Pradesh government is excited to work with the Gates Foundation to find solutions that can have a large-scale impact on public welfare. Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu has also requested Gates to expand the ongoing health schemes in the state. During this period, there is also likely to be a special discussion on the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and its possible benefits.
Health projects already running will be expanded
The Gates Foundation is already working on health-related projects in the Kuppam area of Chittoor district. Now these initiatives will be considered to be implemented in other parts of the state also so that more and more people can get its benefits.
Will inspect the real time governance system
During his visit, Bill Gates will also inspect the Real Time Governance System (RTGS). Chief Minister Naidu will give them information about the use of technology in governance and its results. Along with this, the Chief Minister will also give a presentation on ‘Golden Andhra 2047’ vision. This includes improvements made in health services, medical technology, diagnostic services and digital health record programs like Sanjeevani.
Bill Gates will look at the use of drones and AI in agriculture
Bill Gates will also visit an agricultural farm in Undavalli village of Amaravati. Here they will be shown a demonstration of the use of drones and artificial intelligence in farming.
Have visited Andhra Pradesh before also
This is Bill Gates’ third visit to Andhra Pradesh. Even before this, United has visited Andhra Pradesh twice. The visit is taking place at the invitation of Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu and aims to further strengthen the collaboration between the state government and the Gates Foundation.
