The Chief Minister introduced Gates to the members of his Council of Ministers. During this, talks were also held with IT Minister Nara Lokesh, Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan and senior officials. Gates was welcomed by Nara Lokesh and other ministers at the Gannavaram airport.

Gates did Praise for real time governance system

Chief Minister Naidu showed the power of Real Time Governance System (RTGS) to Gates through a special presentation at the Secretariat. He told how the state has integrated all the government departments through a ‘data lake’. With the help of Aware 2.0 platform, the government is now monitoring every problem in real-time and taking immediate decisions. Naidu pointed out how public opinion and the success of schemes are now directly monitored through statistics.

Land records being stored in blockchain

When Bill Gates questioned the security of property records, Naidu told him about the use of blockchain technology. He said that now QR Code is being used to bring transparency in land records, so that no manipulation can take place. Gates described Andhra’s tax collection model as ‘brilliant’.

New revolution in health services through Sanjeevani project

Gates also inquired about the ongoing ‘Sanjeevani’ project in Kuppam in Chittoor district. This is an initiative to digitize health records, which is being run in collaboration with the Gates Foundation.

He asked how data of blood sugar, diabetes and other tests is recorded. The Chief Minister said that public health services are being improved with the help of Artificial Intelligence. On this, Gates appreciated the implementation of the project.

Delivery of health services through bio-design was also discussed. Gates said that affordable testing facilities could be of great benefit to the poor.

Amaravati and the ‘Golden Andhra 2047’ vision

Naidu also showed Gates the progress of construction of greenfield capital Amaravati. He said that the city is being prepared with modern technology and planned development.

According to sources, Chief Minister Naidu will also give a presentation to Gates on the ‘Golden Andhra 2047’ vision, which includes a long-term plan to develop and prosper the state.

After the secretariat meetings, Gates is likely to visit a farm in Undavalli village in Amaravati, where he will see the use of drones and AI technology in farming. This initiative is being taken to promote innovation in the agricultural sector.

Emphasis on further strengthening cooperation

Naidu posted on ‘X’ and said that the purpose of technology should be to serve humanity. He told that his meeting with Bill Gates in the 1990s had inspired him towards technology-based citizen empowerment.

The state government has requested Gates to expand the ongoing projects in the health sector to the entire Andhra Pradesh. There were discussions between the two sides to further strengthen cooperation in health, agriculture, education and technology-based governance.

It is noteworthy that Bill Gates has already visited undivided Andhra Pradesh. This time the visit has taken place on the invitation of Chief Minister Naidu, the aim of which is to further deepen the partnership between the state and the Gates Foundation.
