Germany Bans Acer and ASUS Laptop: Germany’s Munich 1 regional court has ordered Acer and Asus to temporarily stop direct sales of their laptops and desktop PCs in the country in a patent infringement case in favor of Nokia. The dispute concerns standard-essential patents related to H.265 (HEVC) video coding.

A German court has given a very tough verdict for tech companies Acer and ASUS. The country’s court has ordered companies to temporarily stop direct sales of their laptops and desktop PCs. This decision has been taken after the patent infringement case in favor of Nokia. On January 22, Munich 1st Regional Court issued this order. Due to this, both the companies had to remove related products from their German websites.
