Nowadays, the incidents of cheating money by making fake calls in the name of the bank have increased a lot. To stop this, Airtel has brought a new and smart technology. To prevent online fraud, the company has created a new AI (Artificial Intelligence) system. Now if someone tries to steal your bank’s OTP during a call, this system will immediately warn you.
The system will prevent you from sharing OTP in a hurry.
As soon as you receive a call that appears to be fraudulent and at the same time an OTP comes on your phone, Airtel’s system immediately recognizes it. He will send you a message in the middle of the call cautioning you not to give your OTP to anyone. Often fraudsters pose as delivery boys or bank officers to scare you or ask for OTP in a hurry but this new system will give you time to stop and think so that you do not get cheated. This feature has just started rolling out in Haryana and will be available to Airtel customers across the country in the next two weeks.
How does OTP scam happen?
Scams often try to scare people or force them to take hasty decisions. On the phone, they introduce themselves as senior officers of the bank, delivery boys delivering parcels or employees of some company. They tell you lovingly or sometimes threateningly, ‘Some of your goods have arrived’ or ‘Your account is about to be closed, just give an OTP to fix it.’ But the truth is that that OTP is for withdrawing money from your bank. As soon as you tell them that number they clear the money from your account in the blink of an eye.

Will be careful on spam calls
Airtel’s new system works like a smart spy that keeps an eye on your incoming calls. As soon as you are on a call which is suspicious and at that very moment the bank’s OTP comes on your phone, the system immediately senses the danger. At the same moment, Airtel sends you a message warning you that revealing the OTP while on a call may prove costly for you. The sole purpose of this entire effort is that you do not commit any mistake under the pressure of fraudsters and you get full time to think and be careful to avoid being cheated.
Jio’s ‘Jio Brain’ feature to protect its customers from fraud
To protect its customers from online fraud, Reliance Jio has also developed a new AI (Artificial Intelligence) system named ‘Jio Brain’. This system monitors the network all the time and detects any suspicious activity immediately. The best thing about this is that with the help of machine learning, now before any fake call comes, ‘Suspected Spam’ will appear on your phone so that you can be alert.

Jio is working on ‘OTP-less’ system
Jio is making another big change. Jio is working on a feature that can free users from the hassle of repeatedly receiving risky SMS OTPs. Jio is working on an ‘OTP-less’ system that will identify you directly through your SIM card. Apart from this, Jio has made strict measures to prevent frauds like ‘SIM swap’ and has started blocking dangerous links in messages on the network itself. Jio is taking all these steps under the rules of the government (TRAI) so that your data remains safe.
