Had a special meeting with the famous saint of Vrindavan and spiritual world, Premanand Maharaj. Gajendra Chauhan, who played the role of Dharmaraj Yudhishthir in Doordarshan’s famous serial Mahabharata, attended this meeting as a special guest.
This meeting was full of emotions and spiritual dialogue. There was a frank discussion between the two on the events of Mahabharata, religion, karma, dignity and deep values of life. The video of this meeting is becoming increasingly viral on social media and people are liking it very much.
Premanand Maharaj told Gajendra Chauhan that playing the role of Yudhishthir in Mahabharata was a big responsibility. He said, “Yudhishthira was an inspiration for all of us. He was born out of a part of religion.” Hearing this, Gajendra Chauhan became emotional and recited an important dialogue from Mahabharata.
This incident was related to the exile of Pandavas. When Draupadi (Panchali) was stopping him from going to exile, Yudhishthir explained to his brothers and mother Kunti that whatever is going to happen is the result of the deeds of our previous births. It is not possible to stop it. Giving the example of Ramayana, he said,
“Lord Rama knew that the golden deer was not real, yet he followed it, respecting Mother Sita’s wish. This was not greed, but adherence to dignity and duty. Yudhishthir said, what is to happen, no one can stop it, neither Bhima’s mace, nor Arjuna’s arrows. Therefore, going to exile is not a violation of dignity.”
Apart from this, Gajendra Chauhan narrated another famous dialogue to Premanand Maharaj, a favorite of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee. He told that whenever Atal Bihari Vajpayee met him, he wanted to hear this dialogue. That dialogue was “No individual, family, tradition or promise can be above the nation.”
He also gave the example of Bhishma Pitamah that he had taken a difficult vow, but when it comes to religion and Shri Krishna, breaking the vow also becomes religion. Premanand Maharaj repeatedly emphasized that no matter how many difficulties come in life, if the mind remains engaged in the name of Radha-Krishna or Lord Rama, then freedom from every bondage is possible.
