How was the visa interview?
usa visa Before taking admission one has to go to the embassy and give an interview. The student told that his interview was very short. He was asked questions related to the university and was also asked what plans he was making for the future. He answered all the questions honestly. The student said that when his turn came for the interview, the visa officer said good morning to him and asked for his passport and I-20 form. This form is issued by the admission granting university.
During the interview, the student handed over his documents to the visa officer. After looking at all the documents, the visa officer asked, ‘To which other universities did you apply?’ In response, the student said, ‘I had applied to 5 other universities.’ The Indian student told that he told the names of 4 universities, but forgot the name of the last one. But he remained silent and told the officer that this was all he remembered.
Then the visa officer asked why did you choose this university and course? Responding to this the student said, ‘Georgia Institute of Technology Cyber Security Program of America is included in the top-3 in America. It is included in those selected universities where there is a separate department for cyber security and privacy. This will allow me to work in my field of interest. After this the student was asked who would fund his studies.
The student told that his parents are funding his studies and he has also taken an education loan from a bank. During the interview, the most difficult question was again asked, which was- ‘What is your future plan with this master’s degree?’ In response, the student said, ‘My aim is to create end-to-end network security and policy solutions for small businesses. I want to work in banking and insurance sector, so that their data can remain safe in India. Hearing this, the visa officer said, ‘Your visa application is accepted.’
The student told which trick he used to get the visa?
The Indian student says that he has not got the visa only because of giving correct answers. There were many other reasons behind this, like the way of getting up, sitting and speaking. Giving tips to other students about visa interviews, she said, ‘Be confident and don’t lie. Just try to tell the truth. Maintain good body language, keep your files on one side of the window, sit straight and do not lean towards the window and always respect everyone, be it the officer or the people helping him in his work.
