IIM Lucknow announces 3 New Programmes: For the first time, JEE numbers will be used for admission to Indian Institute of Management (IIM). This new initiative has been taken by IIM Lucknow. The institute has launched 3 AI courses. The entry criteria for one of these programs considers JEE qualified students. Apart from this, there are two more AI programs which are meant to bridge the gap between engineering and management studies. This step is being considered a big change to bring technical education and management together.

Education Minister launched a series of 3 programs

Recently Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan IIM Lucknow Inaugurated a series of new Artificial Intelligence (AI) programs launched by . This program took place at Bharat Bodhan AI Conclave 2026. In this, the Education Minister had told that the institute has announced to start 3 big academic programs gradually. These programs will prepare students for an AI-driven future. He said that business schools should be at the forefront of integrating AI into management, innovation and real-world problem-solving.

Admission in a course will be done on the basis of JEE number.

For admission to IIM, one usually has to appear in CAT or other entrance exam. However, admission to one of the three new AI programs launched by the institute will be based on JEE marks. See details of programs here-

  • BS in Artificial Intelligence and Business Analytics – This is a 4 year program. It will be started in 2026-27. Admission in this course is 12th pass and JEE Advanced Will be given on the basis of number.
  • Tech MBA – This 2 year program will start in 2027-28.
  • Integrated BS + Tech MBA – This 5-year integrated course will provide a path to BS students to obtain both the degrees within five years.

What is the purpose of AI Programs?

It was told by IIM Lucknow that the objective of these programs is to increase personal excellence, national impact and global leadership. These courses To prepare students for AI-driven decision-making, digital leadership and innovation skills, the institute will prepare them for Digital India and India AI Mission etc. IIM Lucknow Director Professor MP Gupta described the newly launched program as a nexus of business strategy and technology. He said that a thoughtfully designed modular curriculum will help in transitioning to technological and business models.
