What is the rule of Aadhar card in NEET?

NTA has given this information in bold letters on page number 8 in the information bulletin. It is written – ‘In the past years, it has been seen that while filling the online application form of NEET, some students register with any other ID proof other than Aadhar Card. Keep in mind that by doing this you will also have to submit other documents to prove your identity. Otherwise the identity is not considered verified. Therefore, to avoid such difficulties, students should apply only their Aadhaar Card as ID proof in the form.

What are the instructions of NTA to fill NEET Application Form?

While filling the NEET UG application form, you have to keep these things in mind-

  • The application process of NEET is completely online. Documents, photo, signature, thumb impression, fees, everything has to be submitted online. Do not send anything through separate post, email, WhatsApp or any other medium. He will not be accepted. And if any of these are missing in the online form, the application will be rejected.
  • Keep in mind that whatever mobile number and email ID you are filling during NEET UG registration, it should be the candidate’s own or that of the parents/guardian. Because in future, every communication by NTA including copy of confirmation page, scanned OMR sheet, score card will be done on these. Apart from this, when you pay the fees, OTP will be sent to your registered mobile number/email ID. The fee will be deposited only after filling that OTP.
  • Once you have submitted your application, it cannot be withdrawn. Even if the application is incomplete, it will not be accepted. Even if it is not as per the instructions, it will be automatically rejected without any notice. The application will be completed only when the confirmation page is generated. NTA has also said that candidates should print several copies of NEET UG Confirmation Page and keep them, these will be useful in future.
  • Whatever information you are filling in the form, please cross check it thoroughly. Because NTA has clearly said that no changes will be made in any column after the confirmation page is generated. Nor will any application in this regard be accepted under any circumstances.
  • Candidates who have cleared the qualifying exam (12th) for NEET UG have to fill code 02 to 07 in the form, while those appearing for Class 12 board exam in 2026 have to fill code 01.   • Just a month ago, NTA had advised to update Aadhaar card for NEET UG 2026. If any information is wrong in it, then you will have to apply after getting your Aadhaar updated. Apart from this, Caste Certificate and Disability Certificate (PwD Certificate), if applicable, should also be updated.
  • While filling the home address, fill both the correspondence address and permanent address in detail along with PIN code. NTA has strictly prohibited from filling the address of coaching center or any other such place. Fill only your home address.
  • NTA has advised that the candidates should keep 6 to 8 passport size color photographs (with white background) while filling the form. This will be needed from examination to counseling and admission process. According to the rules, the candidate has to use the same photo everywhere, from the application form to admission.

NTA, the agency conducting NEET UG exam, has clearly said that if the candidates do not follow the instructions in filling the NEET online application form, make mistakes or upload fake documents, then their application will not be accepted.
