National Testing Agency (NTA) has released the result of JEE Main Session-1 on the evening of Monday, February 16. More than 13 lakh candidates appeared in the National Level Engineering Entrance Exam. 12 students have got 100 percentile. Of these, Shreyar Mishra of Delhi has secured rank-1 with 100 percentile.
One question was wrong in JEE Main, one was missed
Shreyas Mishra has topped this exam in JEE with a perfect score. Shreyas says, ‘100 percentile was not expected because one question was wrong and one was left. But the paper was tough, so I got the top score. Got this big surprise of life.
Loved maths since class 6, started preparing for JEE Main from 11th.
Shreyas started preparing for JEE from class 11th but his passion for subjects was from class 6 itself. He says, ‘I liked Maths very much, so in class 6-7 itself, I started studying advanced topics of Maths. I started reading books of class 9 and 10. On the other hand, when I was in 10th, I liked some topics of Physics and Chemistry so much that while exploring them, I read the chapters of 11th and 12th also. Shreyas started preparing for JEE in 11th class. He also did coaching. He says, ‘Students should pay attention to time management, although I myself could not do it.’
Topper Shreyaar’s important tips for JEE Main
To crack the tough exam of JEE, Shreyas believes that it is necessary to delve deeper. His tips for his juniors are- clear the concepts, practice and practice, stay cool. He says, it is important to clear the concepts. If you are reading any topic, then also explore its mathematical and analytical side. Read NCERT books and then the rest of the study material. Second, practice is essential. He said, ‘I practiced a lot with mock tests to boost my marks. Third, read at breaks and keep your mind cool. I listen to a lot of music, I am interested in classical music, so it does not increase stress.
Keep distance from social media before preparation, YouTube also closed
On his relationship with social media, Shreyas says, zero. I also wasted time in class 9 and 10 on YouTube. Right now I don’t have any social media apps. He laughs and says, I myself have blocked YouTube because once you start, you become addicted. So I felt it was right to maintain distance from social media at this time.
Shreyer wants to do electrical or computer science engineering
Shreyas, a student of Kulachi Hansraj School, says that now I have to give JEE Advanced but now my focus is board exam. I will see later what to do. However, in engineering I am interested in both electrical and computer science.
