India Post GDS Age: 55 year old can also apply

55 year old candidates can also apply for India Post Gramin Dak Sevak Recruitment. However, this opportunity is only for SC or ST category candidates with disability. Actually, the age limit for GDS recruitment is 18 to 40 years. But reserved category candidates are given relaxation in the maximum age limit as per government rules.
Category wise relaxation in maximum age limit is as follows-
Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe (SC/ST) – 5 years relaxation
Other Backward Classes (OBC) – 3 years
Economically Weaker Section (EWS) – No relaxation
Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PWBD) – 10 years
Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD) + OBC – 13 years
Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD) + SC/ST – 15 years
